Student Program
Dedicated opportunities for students and early-career researchers to connect, present research, and engage with the international energy economics community
An intensive research workshop for developing and refining papers on energy policy and regulation.
The Loyola Autumn Research School (LARS) complements the IAEE Annual Conference by offering a more focused setting for the in-depth development of research papers. While the conference brings together a broad community for discussion and exchange, LARS is designed as a space for intensive academic interaction, where participants can workshop their own research, receive structured peer feedback, and gain direct insights from instructors, policymakers, industry representatives, and journal editors in the field.
Organised by the Florence School of Regulation and the Loyola de Palacio Chair in consortium with the IAEE, the Autumn School is aimed at PhD students, post-doctoral researchers, academics, and other researchers interested in producing impactful work on energy policy and regulation. For participants looking to go beyond conference discussion and engage in deeper paper development and publication-oriented feedback, LARS provides an excellent opportunity.
Further details and registration are available on the official LARS webpage:

GEE, FfE and IAEE are pleased to announce the Best Student Paper Award for the 19th IAEE European Conference in Munich 2026. The award recognizes outstanding student research in energy economics and energy policy and aims to encourage high-quality scholarly contributions by early-career researchers.
A first prize of 1,000 € will be awarded for the best student paper. In addition, three runner-up prizes of 500 € each will be granted.
To be eligible for consideration, the paper must be uploaded via the conference submission interface by 10 July 2026. The first author of the submission must be a student, must be registered as a participant of the conference, and the contribution must have been accepted for an oral presentation. The paper should not exceed 30 pages, including references.
The submitted paper should represent original academic work. In the case of co-authored papers, the student first author’s contribution to the concept, research and writing of the paper must be substantial and clearly identifiable.
Members of the Scientific Committee will vote for the Best Student Paper Award. The winners will be announced during the conference.
If your contribution has been accepted for a poster presentation, please prepare your poster
before the conference. Poster presentations offer an excellent opportunity for in-depth one-
to-one discussions, targeted feedback on your research, and informal academic exchange.
They also have a strong networking character and allow authors to engage directly with
interested participants throughout the session.
To prepare your poster, please note the following requirements:
All posters must not exceed DIN A1 format, corresponding to 59.4 × 84.1 cm or
approximately 23.4 × 33.1 inches. For the poster sessions, the conference organizers will
provide numbered Metaplan boards as well as pins. Each poster presenter will be assigned a
specific board.
Posters exceeding DIN A1 size cannot be displayed and will be excluded from the poster
session. The conference organizers are not able to accept or coordinate printing orders.
However, two copy shops are located in close proximity to the conference venue.
Authors are responsible for mounting their posters before the beginning of their assigned
poster session and for removing them immediately after the session has ended. As several
poster sessions will take place during the conference, the boards must be cleared after each
session. Posters that are not removed by the authors after their session may be disposed of
by the organizers.
